10 best fashion moments from NBA Draft night

4 min read

The NBA Draft has long been a big night for college hopefuls jumping into the professional leagues. In recent years, however, attention has shifted from where the young, talented players are headed to what — and in some cases, who — they are wearing.
From custom bling to high-end designers, these were the 10 biggest fashion moments from Thursday night:

Paolo Banchero is making waves as the Orlando Magic’s No. 1 pick and turning heads in the fashion world for his designer look. The Duke forward wore a custom, rhinestone-adorned suit by Dolce & Gabbana from Neiman Marcus in a royal purple hue. His kicks, also from Neiman Marcus, are by Guiseppe Zanotti. Houston jeweler Zo Frost designed Bancheo’s necklace, a diamond-encrusted chain with his nickname “P5” spelled out in ice.

Thus marks one of Thursday night’s biggest trends — Jalen Williams also rocked a watch by Hublot. Before he was selected by the Oklahoma City Thunder, the former Santa Clara guard was all smiles on the red carpet when he revealed the designer behind his head-to-toe, logo mania ensemble. “Gucci down all the way to the shoes,” he said.

The Houston Rockets took Tari Eason, a former LSU forward, with the 17th overall pick. He wore a Kelly green suit with black peak lapels and a clever accessory. “So, it’s an Atari chain. My name’s Tari and an old school game was Atari,”he told GQ Sports (@gqsports). “So. I just thought I’d play with my name and ice it out.”

7. Kylian Lottin

OK, OK — so this one is more of an honorary mention. French professional footballer Kylian Lottin happens to be a major basketball fan. He wore a (relatively) low-key look by Christian Dior to the draft — a major fashion moment for any off-duty athlete.

The Rockets scored former Auburn forward Jabari Smith Jr. with the third overall pick.
