Norwalk fashion designer creates merchandise for new pro basketball team

NORWALK — Clothing designer Devon Spencer and the Connecticut Cobras professional men’s basketball staff both equally have worked to better Norwalk in their very own methods, and now they are signing up for forces.

The Norwalk-primarily based Cobras, in its first time in the insignificant league basketball business, The Basketball League, premiered its products and warm-up gear, made by a nearby artist.

The group partnered with Norwalk native and vogue designer Devon Spencer to create the Cobras’ products and heat-ups, showcased and offered for the very first time at a activity past month at Brien McMahon Significant College.


Cobras’ President of Operations Indya Bennett said she initially contacted Spencer about making the team’s products all-around March.

“We are seeking in the neighborhood for any useful resource or option that can be reciprocated,” Bennett said. “It was a no-brainer as he has his personal manufacturer and he’s rather thriving in his individual right. I reached out to him by using Instagram, permitting him know this is who I am, what we do, what we will need.”

Bennett joined the crew in February and then contacted Spencer, she explained.

The minimal league staff was founded last calendar year by Norwalk native and previous New Haven basketball mentor Anthony Hill, who coached the Wilbur Cross boys basketball team from 2009 to 2012.
