Phytosurgence Chilled Cherry Flash Florescence Cream Shadow

Phytosurgence Chilled Cherry & Pewtered Pine Cream Shadows Reviews & Swatches

Chilled Cherry

Phytosurgence Chilled Cherry Flash Florescence Cream Shadow ($17.07 for 0.14 oz.) is a deeper, plummy-taupe with neutral-to-cool undertones and a pearlized sheen. It wore well for nine hours on me before showing signs of fading. The coverage was more opaque in a single layer when applied with a fingertip, while a brush was sheerer. I had no trouble applying it with a brush or a fingertip, though.

The texture had a slightly firmer, drier feel initially, but it softened over time (seemed to be just the top layer, really). I would recommend working quickly as once they set, they were very transfer-resistant and lasted for over 10 hours without fading or creasing on me.

Formula Overview

$17.07/0.14 oz. – $121.93 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to dry down to a “budgetproof finish” that can be applied with “fingers or a brush” that can be used as an “accent colour” or “one and done” whether that’s at full coverage or diffused for a “wash of colour.”

They are pigmented in a single layer using a fingertip, but they can be built up with a fluffy brush or sheered out with fingertips or a fluffy brush for a sheerer wash of product if desired. The texture was a drier cream initially–very thin, lightweight, and had some emollience but didn’t feel wet to the touch. It had about 15 to 30 seconds of working time and then dried down to a powder-like finish that was transfer-resistant.

I found the formula easy to work with as the colors went on evenly, blended out nicely along the edges, and didn’t settle into fine lines/creases as they dried down. They wore eight to nine hours on me before creasing faintly.

Pewtered Pine

Phytosurgence Pewtered Pine Flash Florescence Cream Shadow ($17.07 for 0.14 oz.) is a darker, purplish-taupe with strong, cool undertones and a pearly sheen. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation when applied with a fingertip, and the texture was a little stiffer to work with initially but became more malleable against the warmth of my lid.

I liked using a brush to pick up product and deposit first for a more opaque layer of product, but a fingertip was best for blending. I definitely felt like this applied and looked better in practice (on my eye) than when I initially swatched it as it went on evenly without issue on my lid. It stayed on well for 10 hours before fading visibly.
