Soho unveils art installation with London College of Fashion
10 students from London Faculty of Manner (LCF), UAL’s BA (Hons) Vogue Imaging and Illustration system are becoming showcased as element of an out of doors exhibition in Soho in partnership with Shaftesbury PLC.
The 250-foot outdoor exhibition is found on Berwick and Hopkins Street on the hoarding of a progress internet site which will expose 10 new retail spaces and two cafe chances in 2023. It capabilities 10 illustrations celebrating the history of Soho through the eyes of the learners, such as lively road scenes and themes of punk, tunes and fashion.
Simon Quayle, government director at Shaftesbury PLC, explained in a statement: “Shaftesbury is delighted to be element of this initiative to help the emerging talent from this significant innovative system. Soho has extensive been renowned as a location for the resourceful industries, so this is the ideal place for the students to illustrate what Berwick Street and Soho suggest to them.
“This collaboration marks a further chapter of our prolonged-standing partnership with London Higher education of Manner, which has endured for about a ten years.”
Lindsay Pentelow, innovative director at the College of Media and Communication, London Higher education of Manner, UAL, added: “These daring and eye-catching illustrations capture and rejoice the background of this iconic road and its placement in the centre of Soho, although also searching into the long term of its growth. This has been a superb temporary and opportunity for London College or university of Fashion’s highly imaginative and modern BA (Hons) Fashion Imaging and Illustration students.
“The illustrations are a ideal way to support rejoice the wealthy heritage of London College of Trend in this region of London, at a time when we are also searching ahead to a new chapter in our tale to our future residence in Stratford when we open up our doors in East Financial institution in September 2023.”
